You will encounter different types of enemies on the battlefield requiring different types of attacks and moves to defeat. To take on a Shielded Enemy:

When an enemy's shield is up, it turns blue.

Use your Thunder Clap to break the shield.

When you break the shield, the enemy will turn purple.

Attack the enemy to defeat it. Enemies turn red when they're damaged.
