You will encounter different types of enemies on the battlefield requiring different types of attacks and moves to defeat them. To take on a Shield Enemy:

When an enemy's shield is up, it turns blue.

Use your Palm Cannon to break the shield.

When you break the shield, the enemy will turn purple.

Blast the enemy to defeat it. Enemies turn red when damaged.
