I am getting an error message when running Armed and Dangerous with Virtual Memory Disabled.
When the game is launched with virtual memory disabled in Windows, the assembler may close during decompression, or you may see this error message: There's a problem with the disc you're using. It may be dirty or damaged. When this error occurs, your system may lock up and you will need to press the reset button to reboot the system. Enabling virtual memory resolves these issues.
I am getting a message "You must have Direct X 9.0c installed to play game", but I have already installed it.
If you already have the latest release version DirectX (9.0c) installed from http://www.microsoft.com/directx but the game continues to request that you update DirectX when you attempt to start the game, please try launching the game as follows:
Place the game CD in the drive and exit the launcher menu when it appears. Next, launch the game using the game.exe file on your hard drive. If you installed the game to the default location:
- Open "My Computer"
- Open the "C:" local drive
- Open the "Program Files" folder
- Open the "LucasArts" folder
- Open the "Armed and Dangerous" folder
- Open the "Gamedata" folder
- Double-click the "game.exe" file to start the game
You may want to right-click the game.exe file and choose Create Shortcut and then copy this new shortcut to your Windows desktop or Windows Start Menu for the game for easier access.
I am getting a message, "Out of Virtual Memory" when running the program in Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
When playing the game on a 256MB system with Windows 2000 or XP, you may see an Out of Virtual Memory Error while playing or when exiting this game. This occurs in part because of the higher memory requirements for Windows 2000 and XP. If this occurs, we recommend that you exit the game and reboot your computer to clear the memory before playing again. If the problem persists, you may want to adjust your Page file settings to allow Windows to start the game with more virtual memory. Consult Windows Help for information on how to modify your Page file settings.
I am getting an Nvidia Open GL driver component missing or driver mismatch error when I try to run the program.
This occurs when the drivers for the Nvidia video card are out of date. Install the latest driver here.
