After completing the Plotting for Plants tutorial, your Sidekicks will be able to plant crops and harvest plants for food. To begin, go to the Sidekick (green) portal from the Toy Box Hub. Walk down the brick road to the glowing green portal door. Select Plotting for Plants to get to the Toy Box Farm.
Farming
You will need to equip your sidekick with a farm tool to plant crops. Go to the Outfitter and access the Gear sub-menu. Go to the Tools and Weapons category; scroll across and select the Farm Hoe. Exit the Outfitter and move to an owned plot of land. Select Work Plot to have your sidekick plant crops. It will take some time for crops to grow. Also, you can have several sidekicks working plots at the same time. While your Sidekicks are working, you can travel to the Toy Box Hub and return later to see what they've grown.
In addition to food, flowers and weeds will grow. Flowers give you sparks, weeds are a nuisance that need to be removed. You can remove weeds by attacking them.
Some crops may yield special items like a Farming Hat or an Advanced Farming Hoe. Equipping your sidekick with a farming hat will help them grow specific types of food. For example, a tomato-farming hat will yield more tomatoes. Advanced farming hoes will help you plant more food.
If you need extra space to plant crops, you can always buy more farm plots. Stand in the middle of an empty farm plot to buy it.
Feeding
Sidekicks need care and feeding; they'll usually let you know when they're hungry in a pop message. To feed your Sidekick, access the Food submenu. Scroll to the food item you'd like to feed your Sidekick and select. Feeding your sidekick will increase skill ranks, as well as satisfy their hunger. For example, Tomatoes increase a sidekick’s Attack skill level.
